No cookies, no tracking
The site sets no cookies and loads no analytics scripts and no advertising. There is no login.
What you enter
An address. It is translated into the building ID (EGID) at the official federal building address directory. The register data for this EGID are stored as a cache so that the next query is faster. The address appears in the page address (URL) and therefore briefly in the host's server logs, not in our database. While you type, the characters from the third onwards go to our server, which looks them up with the federal directory; the suggestions stay in memory for five minutes, your IP address for one minute, only to count requests.
No personal data
We store neither names nor e-mail addresses nor owners. The data shown describe buildings and parcels, not people, and come from public registers.
Language
On the first visit to the home page, the site reads your browser's language setting (Accept-Language) and redirects to the matching language version. Nothing is stored for this, no cookie is set and no location is evaluated; the language is part of the page address.
Where it runs
Hosted at Vercel (USA, servers in the EU, Frankfurt region). Database at Neon (Frankfurt). The fonts come from Google Fonts, the map image of the site plan from swisstopo; these two see your IP address and, for the map image, the map extent, not the address.
Where the data come from
From the open registers of the Confederation and the cantons (geo.admin.ch, RBD, cadastral survey, PLR Cadastre). Every figure comes with its source and date.
